DaDitka mentioned in another thread that year 4 is telling for a new HC. That reminded me of some research I did after Lovie's inglorious first year. Numbers may have changed a bit since then, but I doubt it. What I discovered is that most HCs that ever get their team to the SB do so for the first time in their 4th year. Some, like Lovie, manage it in their 3rd. Lucky coaches that inherit a playoff team, can do it in 1 or 2 years. After 4 years the dropoff is steep: 5th year is less common than 3rd year, and after that, forget about it (Landry and Madden are exceptional cases of patience…

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/fo ... story.html"We say it every year how talented Jay is ... how much talent," Urlacher said during an interview on the "Kap and Haugh Show" on WGWG-FM (87.7). "But the NFL is not a talent contest. It's a winning contest. You want to win football games, that's what it comes down to.Statistics: Posted by Otis Day — Wed Oct 22, 2014 12:54 pm — Replies 7 — Views 133

Ok so first attempt at creating a discussion thread so mod’s if it’s poor or unworthy of being on the forum please do delete. However it’s all doom and gloom around here(rightly so) and on many of the threads the baby is being thrown out with the bath water so to speak. I have seen talk of cutting anyone over the age of 30 etc So I thought OK, OUR football team is 3-4 and it’s now mid season and in an X-Box style of challenge I put this to the forum. Its Monday morning you wake up and you have a phone call from Phil Emery..You are now in charge of the Chicago Bears with your primary…
  • Halas Hall • Are the Cowboys showing the Bears the Blueprint?

Is it me or is Marc Trestman following the same path that Jason Garrett did for the past few seasons. After so many years of clamoring for the Cowboys to run the Football and not rely on Tony Romo to carry the Offense, they finally listened. They are the #1 Rushing team in the NFL and are 6-1. Isn't that the blueprint for the Bears? The Bears handed the ball to Forte only 12 times in today's loss. The Cowboys handed it off to Murray 28 times in their win, which now makes it six straight. Tony Romo passed the ball just 23 times behind a the 35 times they ran it. The Cowboys have used their…

DUBLIN, IRELAND – It might only be pre-season but few will be able to convince people that the San Francisco 49ers wanted to lose their first ever game at their impressive new 1.2 billion dollar Levi’s Stadium.
